Title: triangle bracket for license plate
Post by: GoMangoBoys on August 16, 2021, 01:01:57 PM
On Saturday, I saw several rear valance panels with triangle-shaped brackets for the license plate mounting.  I assumed they were for a different year than 70.  Now I see a 70 for sale on FB that has the triangle bracket.  What is this bracket all about?  I did not see any cars in the show that had it.

70 doesn't have that. Some of the aftermarket ones say one size fits all. I guess you can cut it off if you don't need it. I know AMD sells both with and without the bracket. I have a new one with the bracket on if anyone is looking for one.

The extra bracket was used in 73 and 74 when the bumpers were moved out farther away from the body.  When the bumpers were moved, the license plate light no longer illuminated the plate.  The bracket spaced the plate out.
