Setting up the Signature section of the forum and we have the option to have signatures. We'll also need to set a max number of Characters (right now set at 300) and the max size of the images. I have the max size of the images off while we test. I've put a 120 x 800 signature in my profile. I think Dan has a 281 x 1024 in his signature and Neil does not have one.
The text is pretty easy as it will not slow the site down, but images in the signatures will. I like having them as an option for the members, but what max size do we want to set it at? We have to have a max size to keep someone from linking to a monster image that will bring the site to a crawl. Thoughts?
@303 Mopar (http://forum.e-bodies.org/index.php?action=profile;u=7) and @Chryco Psycho (http://forum.e-bodies.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4)
Lets try this setting. The max is set to 600 wide x 135 tall. Dan I resized your sig and my test sig is now 600 x 71.
How does that load on your end? Pretty fast?
It loads much faster, and I think this is a perfect size! It allows you to show you pic, does't distract from your post and still looks good
Cool
Can you make it so it automatically resizes it? I ask as I'm not that good on how to resize stuff, thinking others might find that feature benificial too, just like how when you post pictures it does it for you?
That's a good idea. I'll look in to it. :)

I can certainly help anyone size up some photo's . . . I used to have a signature photo on the cc.com site long ago but once I became a mod, I felt like I was tooting my own horn too much and removed them. Cool option for members . . .
Here it is at 600 x 463 which keeps the aspect ratio the same. I also lightened it a little . . . :bigthumb: Plus I made it a jpeg file . . .

Do you do this in the gallery or on your computer? I'm not seeing the pic in your post when I quote it either. Right now my pic is in the gallery and it looks like it is the right size but when I insert it in a thread it is huge.
I did it on my computer . . Then just posted it for you. Save it from my post and then use it as you see fit!
I uploaded it into the gallery so you can take it from there as well . . :ohyeah:
Right hand click on the image in 4cruzin's post and "Save As" to save that image.
The medium size image you see in the gallery is a smaller version of the larger version that was uploaded. If you left hand mouse button click on it then it will go full scale image, but that is not what you want. And all the links at the bottom of the gallery are to the large image.
IF you want to use the Medium image that is shown in the Gallery, then RIGHT hand click and "Copy Image Address" on the medium image and it will give you the link to the medium size.

So once you copy the image address, paste that where you want the image to show in the text in your thread. Correct?
So once you copy the image address, paste that where you want the image to show in the text in your thread. Correct?Yes, if you copy the "medium" preview photo from the gallery, it should keep it's "medium" size when posted in here. Like this....
But there is a program that we made to re-size all images to fit the screen size. That's what's not working right now.

I tried it again with a pic of the 340 out and my Cuda on a lift, I saved on my desktop as 682x384, uploaded it to the gallery and posted in my thread it it is still too big. I'll wait until
@Cuda Cody (http://forum.e-bodies.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1) works his magic.
