Title: Brake Booster Plastic Plastic Check Valve With Two Fittings
Post by: 1970GranCoupeConvert on September 28, 2021, 05:22:19 PM
Another question...Can someone PLEASE recommend the correct brake booster vacuum check valve that has two fittings?

I bought the Cardone (as my Italian friend would say "Car.r.r.r-Dough-Nay") brake booster 5473701 it is the "pancake" style

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=259148

It came with a tag on the plastic check valve that said "warranty void if removed" so of course I do not know if the warranty is void if the tag was removed or if the vacuum fitting was removed...of course I do not care...except...

I need to replace the check valve that came on it with a valve that has two ports because I need the cruise control vacuum source...so I was thinking about the one Jims Auto Parts has PN BR-818

https://www.jimsautoparts.com/brake.htm  (half way down the page)

Then I found another one that Raybestos has for 15 bucks and it looks right (I do not care about concourse accurate):

https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1970/plymouth/barracuda/brake/booster_check_valve.html

So the questions are:

-Is this proper check valve for the "pancake" style booster?

-I presume it is a simple pop off the old and pop on the new affair (meaning that there is nothing connected to the inside of the booster that will fall off when I pop out the old booster)?

THANKS again for your help!!!

Yes, the PartsGeek check valve will work.
