Title: Cuda Trunk Lock Rods
Post by: Jay Bee on October 02, 2021, 07:29:48 AM
I have these 2 trunk lock rods and would like to know why they're different.

1. Did someone bend A?
2. Did someone straighten B?
3. Are they for different cars/years?

Both measure about 19 3/8 from center to center of each end.

Any help is appreciated.

Which one. Did they bend A crooked, or bend B straight?

The A one is currently on my car, the B one has the latch with it too and if I do decide to sell, you'll be the first to know.

I would venture a guess and say "B" is correct. or somewhere in between the two... :dunno:

@Jay Bee (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/jay-bee_351)  John I would be interested in the latch too....The car I just bought is missing the latch and the rod... :takemymoney:

Hey Alan, I thought you just bought a '73, don't they have a shorter rod. I still need the rod as a template for when I get around to straightening the one on my car. When, you replied that I had a bent one it jarred my memory, for a while I didn't have the rod cover with my car.

Anyway, I'm sure we can work something out. Did you see the ones Sylvain has for sale?

Won't be a 73 for long  ;)

I try to avoid Sylvain's  "french Canadian prices"  :haha: :haha: :haha:

FYI, mine is in really nice condition, near mint I'd venture to say.

Looks like I'm not the only one looking for a hood latch etc. for my Cuda..

:(

This is what I meant by the little big things. Just finding the brake light switch bracket turned in to pure luck that a friend had one in his tool box....
