Title: 1970 Mopar 440 HP Six Pack Short Block Original Standard Bore Steel Crankshaft
Post by: challengersteve on December 24, 2021, 11:13:26 AM
I am selling a Mopar 440 HP Short Block. This is an F (1970 model year) and is a REAL Factory Assembly Line HP STAMPING and not restamped.
The casting date is 5-14-69 and the assembly date is 11-7-69
This is a complete short block and includes the crankshaft, original wide beam six pack rods, block with all matching main caps and bolts, rear main seal retainer and bolts, timing cover, correct original offset six pack harmonic balancer.
This had never been apart until I disassembled it last week. The original bearings dated 8-69 were still in place and nothing had ever been disturbed.
The block is standard but will need bored .030.
The crankshaft is standard and probably will need turned .010 but may be able to just be polished.
The balancer is excellent and has super nice rubber and no damage.
All rods look nice and have never been damaged.
The block casting is very clean with no damage and no pitting.
All bolt holes are perfect.
The price is 3500 and I am located in Alma, Arkansas.
I will strap everything to a pallet but the buyer is responsible to arrange all transport.
These unmolested virgin hp engines almost never come up for sale and this is the nicest one I have had in years.
Please feel free to call me at 479-430-4886 if you have any questions.

just to be clear .... this was originally a 440HP TNT 4bbl engine out of a Chrysler (300, New Yorker, etc.)

all B/C/E-body 1970 440HP (4bbl) 375hp & 440+6 (3x2bbl) 390hp engines used the same H.D. ('Six Pack") rods & offset "weighted" balancer - painted ORANGE
the C-body ONLY 1970 440 (4bbl) 350hp used "LY" rods & a neutral balancer - painted BLUE

Based on the stampings this motor would most likely be put in a 1971 year car.

not true - it is from a mid-November 1969 built 1970 Chrysler

F440 = 1970 model year VS. G440 = 1971 model year

Ok, lets see here

F code - 1970 year
Block stamping 11 7 -

Ahhh never mind 1970 year is built in 1969, so yeah it would be a 1970 model year motor

I'd love to have this motor but it's a bit pricey as I got my 1970 HP motor for quite a bit less.

Good luck on the sale as these are getting harder to find.

I could probably sell that for you if it was a 69 HP 440 in that condition.
