Title: Center Ac vent question
Post by: Ohiowoodchuck on January 11, 2022, 07:04:02 PM
Will the center vents out of a 71-74 b body work in a 74 Barracuda housing. I found a good housing but some of the vents are missing out of one side and the whole assembly is missing out of the right. I've read where guys have used b body to rebuild these. Just wondering if the whole piece will work. Didn't want to waste a 100.00 to find out it wouldn't.

So I can pull the whole assembly that goes up and down and then has the vents in it and put them in my Barracuda housing. I just don't want to make a mistake. This car is eating my money.

Yes. Pictured here are 72-74 E-Body and 71-74 B-Body, they both use the same vents as shown. The vents are held in with small rivet pins and tensioner clips.

Sometimes the tensioner clips are rusty and can break easily. When that happens I've cut up a soda can to make replacements. They're not seen once installed.

Thank you very much that clears it all up for me.
