I am already planning on Carlisle but wife is getting annoyed with me sitting around the house too much ::) so told me to start planning some trips for this year. I am in New Hampshire so looking for ones I can trailer the car to. The Holley Moparty looks like fun but it`s a 17 hour drive which is a bit much. What other big shows are there in the Northeast worth hitting?
nothing with more couple hundred cars in the northeast besides carlisle
:wrenching: Not sure if Englishtown still has any shows? I haven't gone there since I moved away from NJ back in the late 90's :notsure:

I went to Englishtown one year for an all Mopar show/swap meet/racing. I'll say it was around 2008. I was very impressed with the track itself. Sadly, I wasn't so impressed by the number of cars, or the swap meet area. Someone there said Carlisle is hurting them as far as turnout goes. I don't know for sure if that's true or not. :dunno:

No. The dragstrip is long gone. :verymad:
The drag strip itself is no more but there are still events at Englishtown like the swap meet and others. That said I don't see the Mopar event on the calendar this year. There was some attempt at keeping it going after the drag racing ended but maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

I was up in Lake George one time when the Adirondack Nationals were going on, mopars were way outnumbered by everything else but it was cool to watch the cars cruising up and down the main drag. It would be something I'd go to more often if it were closer to me.

Also have heard the Syracuse Nationals gets a lot of cars but again mopars far outnumbered by everything else.

I haven`t been but a number of people I know from around here go up to those shows and have good things to say about them but like you said it`s all makes so Mopars are pretty outnumbered. I like and appreciate all kinds of things with wheels from cars to trucks to motorcycles but my passion is Mopar so I might get bored looking at mostly brand X stuff all weekend.
Englishtown unfortunately is horrible now especially the swap meet unless you're looking for a lawnmower or beat up bicycles. Forget about finding a Mopar part. Hopefully one day that will change. Mopar show there stop about 3-4 years ago and there wasn't many cars there and maybe 20 vendors.

How about a visit north of the border? Moparfest in New Hamburg Ontario says they are back on for 2022. Check out Moparfest.com.
Looks like a 10 hour trip for you - I'm not sure if there is anything special with bringing it across the border in a trailer - I always drive to Carlisle. Would be great to see you at Moparfest. Mopars only and historically around 1300-1400 cars from all over. Ok swap meet - nothing like Carlisle but always Mopar stuff there.
I'm hoping to do Carlisle and Moparfest again this year - missed both the last 2.
10 hours to Canada is doable and would be cool as I`m sure most cars I haven`t seen before, problem is the border isn`t fully open yet and I am not vaccinated and don`t plan to be so that could be an issue.

You and me both brother...
NC
Charlotte NC, has a good car show every year at the race track. This year is April 7-10. Its not a Mopar only but one of the largest car shows and swap meet in the south. Lots of cars and vendors...
Another is at Raleigh when the traveling "Good Guys" go there...April 24'th at the Raleigh fairgrounds. Again, not a Mopar only but a large show, with plenty of vendors and swap meet.
Both of the above are pay events for cars and spectators.
Myrtle Beach is having their annual "Run to the Sun" Car show on March 17-19. It is HUGE maybe 5,000 cars there. Again, this isn't Mopar only, but it is huge, and includes a swap meet. Its right in the middle of Myrtle Beach 2 blocks from the ocean.
still winter in northesast in early april
Mid April there's Mopar's at the Rock.... Quite a haul for you at 14-hrs
David, DAYLEY/CHALLENGER could fill you in on what to expect...

Charlotte, NC is southeast. 14 hours is a haul for just a one day show butcould maybe make a mini vacation out of it and spend a couple days checking out the area. I haven`t given up trying to convince the wife to move south yet, hmmmmm...
Anyone going to the Chrysler Performance west show in Van Nuys California?

Musclepalooza at Lebanon valley dragway in NY on Memorial day Weekend. Great show and F.A.S.T. racing. Mopars in Motion has a number of shows around CT with a good one also in May. Good lord willing, I will be visiting the area and able to attend both.

Probably too far. I'm hopeful that I can pull this one off.

That has to be a unique show. The under appreciated C-bodies get to have their day in the spotlight. There aren't that many that show up at Carlisle, so I wonder how many cars they can pull in?
I'll be at the beach that weekend, but it would be a long haul for me too.

I realize this would not interest most on here, but there is a major MOPAR only event called WAM (We Are Mopar) that is located in Ft Worth at the Texas Motor Speedway on Labor Day weekend. It is the 5th year (I think) and is a 3-day event, Friday thru Sunday with the main event on Saturday. It is of course primarily new-gen cars & trucks with classics more than welcome but only 10-20 generally attend.
* The primary sponsor is B.F.Goodrich and among other things they host a timed road course where you can drive your own car or ride in one of BFG cars (Dodges) with a professional driver.
* There is what they call "Laps for Vets" where you can do 3 laps on the Nascar track with all ticket proceeds going to a local Vet charity. I did this a few years ago and got up to 90mph, was a blast!
* They also have a car show competition with very cool custom built trophies.
* New this year they are having a burnout competition
* Last year they had a cruise on Sunday with over 200 cars in a very long line.
* They host what is called Friday Night Lights, a takeover of a 4-story parking garage to just hang and show off (especially lighting).
* Lots of vendors are present including Dodge. I'm probably forgetting some stuff.
Again, this is not a classic car meet but if you don't need a swap meet and can appreciate some crazy customs & mods it is a very cool and impressive event. Something different to consider as a weekend get away. It is pretty inexpensive and actually free just to walk in and enjoy.

I think the Canadian Border has opened up some so may want to reconsider that option . . I am hopeful they ease up some more before the Moparfest show so I can go.
