Title: Are 318 cam bearings the same ID?
Post by: MRM82 on February 24, 2022, 03:45:29 PM
Dropped engine number 2 off at the machine shop today. First engine had a cracked block, but I got a 1986 318 to try now. I would like to utilize a roller cam if this block checks out good. The machinist asked me what cam I'd be using so he can install the bearings. Do all 318 cams take the same ID sized bearings or should I select a cam first then tell him so he can base the bearings on that?
Thank you

To my knowledge all LA blocks take the same cam brgs , not positive on the LA roller blocks from 87-92 but I never recall hearing anything changed , I can call my machinist & confirm we build a bunch of the LA rollers .
Stay away from comp cams BTW

Well my Machinist didn't answer But I went on Rock Auto
The same Sealed Power Brg set is listed , part # 1484M is listed in 340/360 from 70- 94 which is the Magnum block in 94 , Mopar never really changed things unnessisarily .
