Title: Gas Tank Vapor Line Shields
Post by: nicka on July 27, 2022, 08:05:23 AM
I've got a 71 Barracuda and I was wondering if anyone is repoping the two shields?  How is the hose shield connected?  The tube shield looks like it's screwed to the body.

This is the one on the frame rail.

I found this pic. Looks like this piece goes thru the frame rail.  Not sure how it's held in place?

I need this part too. Thanks for the pick, now I know what to look for. Not sure if I lost it or if it was gone when I removed the gas tank. I was thinking of temporary solutions like splitting a rubber hose and lining the edge of the opening.

I went through this, a few years ago, with mine. The larger piece is available, but the skinny piece that passes through the frame, is not and very difficult to find. The good news is, that according to my research, that piece did not come on the '71 cars. The '71s had only the one shield that is readily available.
