While having my convertible out a few weeks ago for the last time this year, changing the oil, adding Stabil, etc, I noticed it was a tad loud in the rear while it was sitting there idling.
I looked under it and noticed a hole in the muffler or is it the resonator that is installed under the trunk floor.
So thinking of spring so far off :crying:, I think installing a new exhaust system is in order. It's the same exhaust that was on the car when I bought the car in '97 so I guess it lasted a long time.
The car is a nice stock driver local show type car. It's a 383 but not R/T, so it has a dual exhaust with turn down tips, not the R/T tips that use the rear valence with cut outs.
Is there a decent stock looking system on the market I can buy to install, or would I be better off finding an exhaust shop to make up a new exhaust?
Again, it's not a car that gets displayed with mirrors under it, so I don't need exact repro with part number and date code stuff like ECS sells, but do want something that looks basically original style with mufflers, resonators and turn down tips.
Try this place, they have received good reviews

I've heard of them and good feedback. I don't see any turn down tips on their site, just the fancy stuff. I guess I could ask them though.
That's it, thanks!
I'll need to crawl under there and see how the rest of the system looks. Maybe I can get away with just new mufflers, over axle pipes and hangers. :fingerscrossed:
I have a used setup that came off a 70 Challenger convertible with a 440. Complete from head pipe to tips. I think it is from Accurate Exhaust but might need to check numbers or pics of the mufflers to confirm. Either way, it's a nice system. I was going to convert it to use with the small block on my Cuda but I've decided not to go that way. Would make you a good deal, if you are interested shoot me a PM. I'm just North of Milwaukee.
