Title: R11 AM Radio Question
Post by: 70_440-6Cuda on December 02, 2022, 12:35:37 PM
Question for the experts on the radio configurations - my build is R11 / R31, 2W AM radio with single dash and single rear speaker.  Is the radio the same regardless of speaker configuration?  Meaning is the wiring from the radio the same for all applications, and the wiring in the car is different depending on the speaker configuration, or are there different R11 radios for different speaker configurations?  Lastly, would my application have a crossover box, or just the fader switch on the dash with the 2 speakers?  The info I have does not specifically call out no crossover, but from what I gather that is for the dual rear speaker or 3 speaker dash applications

Thanks

If you have a rear speaker knob that is a separate harness. If you do not the main harness will have the connection for the power and front speaker for the R11 radio.

a '70 R11 AM E-body radio is the same with and without a rear speaker R31 & does NOT require a crossover box

the rear speaker fader switch is different for an AM radio (1 rear speaker) VS a rear speaker fader switch for stereo (R22 or R35) with 2 rear speakers
