Title: Steering Wheel - Was black rim available on Standard Wheel?
Post by: MoparCarGuy on December 31, 2022, 12:18:28 PM
Was a black rim available on the Standard Steering Wheel (Code S81) in an E-Body for 1970?
The 1970 HemiCuda BS23R0B172839 for sale at the 2023 MECUM auction in Kissimmee, FL this January does not have a woodgrain wheel.

Is this correct? early wheel or off a different model?

the black wheel is incorrect for a 1970 'cuda (BS)

the '70 coupe (A93) e-body wheel was smooth black plastic - all other '70 cars received the woodgrain wheel STANDARD with the "rim-blow" OPTIONAL

the '71 base Barracuda (& coupes) had a black steering wheel, but the wheel was textured with a material similar to the '72-'74 steering wheel
