Title: Challenger taillight bezels
Post by: 70rtse on February 23, 2023, 06:29:09 PM
Got my original taillight bezels re chromed.
Need to paint the edge.
Is it meant to satin black and should I lightly sand the edge primer then paint.

Here's a post on the topic from when I did mine.  I used the Fine Line tape and SEM self-etch primer and SEM Trim Black.  I scuffed the areas that need paint with either steel wool or scotch brute (can't recall).  Great results with the paint and masking tape.

Yes.
Technically, the factory painted the bezels as an assembly.  On many original housings you can see a black overspray line on the top surface.

What is the name and location of the chrome shop that you used to have the taillight bezels rechromed ?

Thanks

I had a complete set of taillight bezels rechromed by Paul's Chrome in PA.  They were nice cores and came out very nice.  Not inexpensive, but they do very nice work.
