Title: Deck lid molding attachment
Post by: Mrbill426 on June 07, 2023, 03:50:39 PM
My replacement deck lid did not come pre drilled for the molding strip; it is a '72 Cuda so uses the three piece set.  Can anyone please tell me the placement and how many mounting clip holes should be in the lid? Judging by the corner pieces it appears they would not be centered between the top of the lid and the bottom lip of the lid.
Thanks.

I helped put the trunk trim on a '70 ..  Don't remember how many, just made as many holes as the kit had clips & fasteners. Ran masking tape across the lip & positioned the trim to match the installed extensions & marked the tape, measured to the middle of the mark to drill holes.

Think this is the kit we used https://dantesparts.com/i-30500030-1970-1974-e-body-trunk-lid-molding-clip-kit.html
