I have my dash out of the car and I am in the process of installing my new M&H rally dash harness. As part of this I have removed the Ammeter in favour of the Voltage Gauge including the bypass (Red to Black). The voltage gauge of course requires a 12V source.
Most of the posts suggest it can be picked up anywhere, but if I have everything accessible. What is the best and safest place to take a switched 12V source for the new gauge that is switched with the ignition??? I was thinking of taking a wire jumper off the back of the tach (12V Screw post - see pic). Will that create a problem??
Thanks in advance ......
Anyone ???
Which colour harness can I run a jumper from to provide switched power for the new voltage gauge?
What about the 12 V wire that feeds the instrument limiter?
Use a double male spade adapter. There are few options for the adaptors.
Those ammeter wires you connected together...right there.
Thanks Dodj ..... I was so consumed with ensuring that this was properly crimped/soldered/taped and heat shrink'd ..... that I completely ommitted
that option.
Now I feel really stupid.
Great idea Skdmark. Are those double pinned adapters readily available?
Check out Canadian Tire

Will do .... .thanks Dodj. Cdn Tire is five minutes away. I will head over shortly and start the exercise of removing the entire dash to begin
my harness replacement.
