Title: I may just be an idiot- Radiator
Post by: Marty73 on July 11, 2023, 07:39:05 AM
So I got cooling issues and the radiator I bought many years ago at the start of my restoration just doesn't cut it (single core, factory replacement, etc from Autozone). Okay - fine, let's buy a fan shroud and well, idiot me buys the wrong one, but decide to "make it work temporarily" because I wanted to make a cruise in and didn't want to wait for the correct one to arrive.

So - new shroud slows down the overheating issue, but really didn't solve it.

Go online today to buy the correct fan shroud and see that they are more expensive than a brand new aluminum 3 core radiator!

I know this is all a self inflicted issue - but it boggles my mind that a plastic fan shroud is more expensive than a brand new radiator...just floored....

Or maybe I'm just an idiot and bought an incorrect radiator....

I seem to remember the stock shroud does not fit those rads very well?

That's not the brand I bought although it looks somewhat similar.
That's dirt cheap but it is on sale. Regular price is more than a fan shroud.
