Title: Taking the Challenger to Carlisle this year (FINALLY)!
Post by: GoMangoBoys on March 19, 2024, 01:57:01 PM
I just booked my hotel for the 2024 Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle in July.  I will register for the show later this week.  Any advice for a first timer bringing a car to the show?  I am planning to do the advanced registration and the Gate-n_Go.

Bring a tent because it's usually hot as hell, get one of those disposable car cover in case of a pop up shower. Sit back and enjoy the show!

No advice... just congratulations in advance on your upcoming road trip. I I know it's been a long (and sometime strange) trip.  At least this time you don't have to claim your truck is a Mopar in disguise.

Wear really comfortable walking shoes, there were 3000+ cars there last year plus a humongus swap.
Visit the top of the hill and take in the awesome view.
You're gonna have a great time

First please when registering select E-bodies.org under "Club" to help with the Club Tent costs.

Make plans to make the parking lot pizza party, the best part of the weekend IMO.  :woohoo:

Also the evening dinner is a good time. Personally I get more out of hanging with the Ebody folks than any other aspect of the show.

No advice I can think of except find the back way in, just drive right in the main gate. Which hotel are you staying at and when are you arriving?

That's fantastic! Been waiting to see your Challenger at Carlisle for ages. It's gonna be a blast! Enjoy the show, and if you see any cool fervogear.com race suits around, be sure to snap a pic for yourself!

Thanks all.  FYI, I have been coming to the show and hanging out with the folks from this forum since 2020.  This will be the first year WITH the car.  I will definitely list the club when registering and I would not think of missing the dinner on Friday evening.

@torredcuda   I am staying at the Fairfield Inn and Suites New Cumberland.  This is on Beacon Hill Rd if I recall, just up the hill from the Holiday Inn that you and I both stayed in either last year or the year before.  I like the Fairfield better because it is a shorter walk to the bar next door. :)

Ha,ha!     I started staying at Holiday Inn Express because the wife likes the free breakfests (me also) so continue to go there as I get reward points even though she hasn`t come to Carlisle with me for probably 6 years or so. IIRC this years stay will cost me less than $60 for four nights Wednesday thru Sunday.  :bigmoney:
