I was in the market for an MSD Blaster 2 coil so of course I did a little internet shopping. Napa in Rochester, NY was $74 US which translates to $104 CDN. The same coil from Napa here in Ontario is $210!!!!! WTF!!
Thanks for letting me rant.
Typical, isn't it? And that's beside the fact that where in God's universe does a coil become that expensive? What possible reason could NAPA give for such blatant thievery?
I had a similar experience with NAPA here in my area recently when I tried to order wheel cylinder rebuild kits. The cost tripled, supposedly because the part was in a warehouse outside the stores shipping zone. I ended up buying the kits and other parts at rockauto.com.
Amazon.ca (Canada) $117.99 and free shipping. But it says it doesn't fit my 1970 Barracuda :dunno:

What interesting is that this is not always the case. In the winter I priced all the drum brake hardware and drums at both Napa stores. For all the hardware the price was the same, currency exchange applied, but the drums were much cheaper in the US. Everything I buy I price on both sides of the border.

I wanted it for tomorrow to carry as a spare for the Hotrod Tour. I was going to rob the one off the Charger to take but I had trouble with that car last Sunday and it's been suggested that it might be coil related. Don't want to be four hours from home on a Sunday with a questionably spare.
I followed the link and your price from Amazon is cheaper than mine!
It must be because I'm from Alberta, Canada's embarrassing cousin that nobody wants...... (That's what our last Premier said about our province. :verymad: )
I don't know if you have a Bumper to Bumper store close by but they might be cheaper and can usually have the product in by the end of the day if it's ordered early enough. They may also have one in stock.

Don't ever think that way. I had BILs that lived in Alberta for decades and we visited that fine province a few times. Where the hell do you thing those separatist dicks in Quebec would be if not for Alberta oil money?! Be Alberta proud! :bigthumb:
Welcome to liberal utopia where your cars are unwanted and need to go away.
My mistake, I bet it's not due to politics. Must just be those globalist re-setters gouging your pocket book. After all, the whole world wants to get rid of oil and make everything electric which doesn't use coal as it's primary conversion resource. Let's go green!!!!
I wish I'd moved to the USA decades ago. I could have done it when I was still Railroading.
I was trying to move to the US since 1979 could not make it happen , now I am happy I am not there 1
You must've been doing it the wrong way Murray. What you do, is go to Mexico and head north! It must work, because 100,000's are doing it monthly. 8)
