Title: 6-pack-Fuel starvation
Post by: PromoChallenger on July 08, 2024, 08:41:09 PM
I've got a 440 6-pack Challenger that is restored to OE factory original condition. Car ran great 3 weeks ago, now seems to not want to idle properly or run. Will start for a few seconds, then seems to starve of fuel. Sputter and dies. Took the air cleaner lid off and the center carb is not wet at all. Could this be a fuel pump issue or carb issue?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to the site , Need a lot more info , have you set the float levels , does the accel pump squirt fuel & does the arm move freely ?

Whenever I hear big block fuel issues I think of the fuel pump push rod
Seems many replacement pump rods are crap... Someone recommended Hughes
