Title: More questions about Shackles
Post by: RayL on August 17, 2024, 08:07:11 AM
Ever look at something so long that you get less confident you know what you are looking at?

I cannot find the E-Body OEM shackle dimensions. I've come across references to both 3.5" and 4" center to center dimensions.

My '73 Challenger currently has 3.5" center to center on the 9/16" diameter pivots and are 3" plate to plate.

Are they correct for the car?

Thanks,
Ray

Thanks @MoparLeo. Same part number I found in the 1973 parts book. But still not able to find the exact dimensions after looking on all the usual sites.

This listing's description shows the center to center as being 4" for factory part number 3420118. I'll keep searching around but would still welcome further input!

Just in case anyone comes across this post and wants to know how it ended: All E-Body years used OEM shackle part number 3420118. The center-to-center dimension on the pivot bolts is 4" (not the 3.5" I found on my car).

I purchased a set from ESPO SPRINGS N THINGS. Very affordable.

Enjoy!
