Title: 70 A66 Challenger Fuel Line
Post by: 340Challman on September 14, 2024, 04:22:28 PM
Hey Everyone,
Which size fuel line was correct on the A66 (340) Challengers? I have a clean slate. I'm getting a new tank, sending unit and everything else up to the engine. I'm thinking that the 340's might have moved up to the 3/8 line. I guess the reality is I could run 3/8 even if it were not original, but I'd like to adhere to as much originality as I can. So which was it guys?
Thanks.

Fuel lines were 5/16 for all engines except 440 and 426 Hemi.
3/8 fuel line was spec'd for 440 and 426 Hemi.

Thanks Skdmark. I'll stick with the 5/16 then. That leads me to the next question. Which cars used the return line and which didn't?
As always, I appreciate the knowledge here.

1970's with N95 Evaporative Control System (ECS) have a fuel vapor return line.

Ok. I definitely did not have that system on my car. It has been a long time since my car was whole, but I remember a line running to the top of the filler neck for venting. Nothing as involved as the ECS system for sure. Would this have been isolated to strictly L.A. built cars?
Many thanks.

E-bodies with the N95 code were not exclusively LA built. For example, Hemi e-bodies were made only at Hamtramck and would get N95 if they were sold to a California dealer.

Cars destined for California would have N95.
