Title: Windshield corner trim screw hole photos?
Post by: tparker on December 18, 2024, 09:34:43 AM
Hi All,
I had to fix parts of the lower windshield area due to rust. I need to drill a hole for the lower corner window trim and was curious if any one had a phot that shows the hole. I'm just currious if it is a straight up hole and or if it is raised a bit with a couple threads and angled at all. Just trying to figure out the best way to attach it.

Thanks

I had to repair that area in my car too. I just drilled new holes when I had trim assembled

I don't think I see the hole in your images.

but what I would do, is put all the trim in place, clips and all (maybe without the glass installed) and see where the hole in the trim falls, mark it, and drill the hole to fit the trim.

In some ways, that may be better than presuming where the hole would go, and later trying to make the trim fit into that hole.

That's what I did. No holes in my pictures. Drilled holes after paint and glass and trim was back on.

Awesome. @Brads70 That is pretty much what mine looks like right now. @71vert340 I vaguely recall that hole being formed a bit kinda like yours. I won't be able to recreate that but it sounds like just drilling a hole should be sufficient.

@pschlosser, yeah I would put the trim in place then mark it.

Thanks all!

@tparker my 70 is a shell with the doors and fenders currently off for jamb paint prep. If you send me an email to kjc1970rt@gmail.com tomorrow morning, I'd gladly reply with pics. Just put "trim photos" or something similar in a subject line so it'll trigger my weak memory. I'll be glad to get measurements, photos or whatever it takes. Mine is all factory in that area.
