I am working on my 32 Plymouth build and I am thinking about what tranny I will use. I am have a 360 Pre-magnum roller cam engine that I will rebuild (possibly a 408 stroker???) I want an overdrive transmission. I am not 100% thrilled with the A833 OD transmission that we are running in the Challenger. Can you guys recommend another transmission? I am wondering about the transmissions for the modern Challengers and Chargers, or maybe even Dodge trucks? When my dad bought the car in 1963, it had a 56 Chevy engine and tranny in it. The tranny was a Saginaw 3 speed which is a similar configuration as the A833 with the shifter and linkages on the side. This put the shifter between the driver's legs in that coupe. I would rather have a center mounted shifter if possible. I know that this isn't e-body related, but you all are the best and most helpful Mopar people that I know.
The OD 833 or a T56 would be my vote
NV 3500 from a Dakota with a V6 or 5.2.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremec_TR-6060_transmission
but it has a bolt on fixed driveshaft not a slip yoke.
Why not a TKX?
