Today, I received T/A hood springs for the T/A hood YearOne sent. There was a thread on the forum stating "the vendors had the AAR and T/A hood spring labels mixed up. The T/A hood springs are suppose to be 6.5" from first coil to last coil. The AAR hood springs are suppose to be 5.5" first coil to last coil."
The springs Year One sent are the 5.5" long type, 33 coils, 1-1/4" dia, which may be for an AAR hood? The item # is A0111 at Yone's website. Hmmmm What to do? Any ideas? I found this picture and wonder if it is correct? YOne is closed until Tuesday for Xmas Holidays.

Today, received the second pair of T/A hood springs. The part # is A0112 and should be labelled T/A hood spring not AAR hood spring. The dimensions are 6-3/4" long coil-to-coil, 1-3/8" diameter, spring coil gauge 13/64", 9 " overall length. Year One stated the manufacturer is using the same coloration for AAR & T/A springs. If you want a different color you would have to paint them. Below is a picture of the AAR spring (Top) and T/A spring (bottom).
Year One's Customer Service is absolutely SUPERB!
Maybe that's why they didn't hold up my hood very well. The slightest wind and it would slam shut. It also was bowing the hood so I took them off and don't use them. I figured it was due to my hood likely being heavier than a stock hood being a reproduction? These measure 5 1/4" also, not sure where I got them as these were the second set I bought and tried before I gave up.
Tell me guys please, a little off topic, do TA's and AAR's come factory fitted with the pop up spring in front of the radiator? And if so is it the standard part or a lighter weight spring?
There is NO pop up spring for AAR & TA hoods at the front because there is no hood latch on them. The hood is secured by the Hood Clips ONLY.
Thanks Jim, so the AAR hood springs lift it enough to get your fingers under the front to lift the hood? Or do you grab hold of the scoop and lift it enough to get the pinkies under the front?
The hood closes completely on my AAR and I lift it from the scoop opening until I can get my fingers under the front of the hood, then lift it from the front.
I would think that TA owners would do the same, I've never owned one, so I can't say for sure on a TA.

On the T/A hood you just lift it from the front of the hood as it's exposed not like a Cuda.
Has anyone installed Ringbrothers billet aluminum gas strut hood hinges on their T/A hood. I am curious if they will prevent bowing of the fiberglass hood. Also, being that they are billet aluminum they will not flex. So I was wondering if there were any fitment issues. Here is a picture of a T/A that is on google images that has Ringbrothers hinges.
