I know of an original FJ6 Sassy Grass 340 4spd 1971 Cuda that now has a 440 Automatic in it. :o

I could see if someone has a knee issue, doesn't want the "hassle" of shifting in traffic, or is restoring a car back to the fender tag/bs.

I did it once. When I took my 4 speed out to R&R, I put the 727 in so I could still drive it. Back to 4 sp the same summer.
A friend of mine had a 440 Six Pack, 4 speed 70, Super Bee. He lost his leg to cancer and changed the car over to an automatic.
