Title: Carpet install question
Post by: dave73 on August 22, 2018, 06:39:33 PM
I'm installing an ACC carpet in my challenger with a 4 speed. The area around the shifter where the tunnel narrows toward the rear isn't contouring to the shape. No matter what I do it has a wrinkle when trying to flatten it to the contour. My seats aren't in yet, just the seat brackets. When the seats are in will this flatten out or hide this? What am I doing wrong?

Can you post a photo of the area?

First guess would be the carpet is too far back but pics would be good.

Here's a pic. Thinking it's not up far enough. Is there a general area on the door panel where the front carpet seam should line up with?

Carpet is too far back. The front of the heel pad should lineup with where the floor board shoots up. You have to trim the front of the carpet to get it up there usually.

Moving the carpet up worked perfectly. Thanks all!

Good thing I didn't cut the 4 speed hole yet!!
