Title: '71 Front Bucket Seat Springs
Post by: Claudia on September 25, 2018, 10:13:10 AM
Can anyone take specific measurements for me of where the front bucket seat springs attach to the frame backs . . . I am contemplating modifying a set of '72 seat frames (no support springs) into '71 seat frames with support springs???  :help:

Claudia, I was thinking of doing that myself. I gave up as the modification would not have been good enough for me. There are six springs to support your foam. Each slot in the frame is one inch long. From the bottom edge of the seat measure up 2- 7/8", 5-3/4 , 8- 3/4,11-15/16, 15  and 18-1/8 inches .  Some springs are longer than others. the lowest spring slots are 12" apart. then 15-1/2,14-1/2, 13-18 , 12-3/4 and the very top spring is 11-3/8 " apart. you will need to find a center line down the seat frame to center each spring . Hope this helps.

Your very welcome. I hope it all works out for you.  Pictures would be nice as you go along your build. you can PM me if you need,as I'm converting late 71-72 seat back into a 70 style seat.
