Title: Possible purchase
Post by: xx88man on December 06, 2018, 02:32:10 PM
At the request of @nsmall (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/nsmall_145) I am posting a teaser pic of a car that I have put a deposit on. It is a 1971 Challenger 318 car with low miles. The unfortunate part is that the car is snowed in and I won't even get to lay eyes on it until April. I won't post too many details on the car until I actually see the car.
I have spoken with the owner and out of respect for him I won't share too much information other than I feel the car will be worth buying unless I miraculously find something better in my budget.

You sneaky guy!  That's all we get?  Just a little shot of the front.   :lookatthat:  Can't wait to see more photos of what you got.  Love that color on Challengers!   :inlove:

Yup I love the colour too. Hemi Orange! Factory EV2 with black interior. You can blame @nsmall (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/nsmall_145) for just the pic of the front.....he asked me for a "teaser" shot  :pokeeye:

I will have to choose between this car and a different Challenger but I am waiting on details on the other car. I don't know what will happen but I can tell you I'm excited to see how this ends up. I will post more when I know more.

Love 71 Challengers, rarely see them at shows compared to the 70 Challengers.

Good luck with the purchase.

:handshake:

Thanks for the tease.

As for "The unfortunate part is that the car is snowed in and I won't even get to lay eyes on it until April."  What in the ????  I am from North of Spokane (near Canada, as it snowed some) and I would be bringing my shovel and getting sweaty to have a peak.  Obviously its more complicated than that.

This is one I am looking at. Been dealing with the guy on it for a couple of weeks now. 4 speed car. The other car is a 4 speed car as well, I'd like to finalize one or the other pretty quick.

It's not an April fools thing...the car is real.  @nsmall (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/nsmall_145) isn't wrong....there's a little more to the story. I was prepared to get on a plane to go see the car in person but the owner suggested we wait until the snow melts and the car is more accessible so I could just make one trip. If I have to use an enclosed trailer to bring it home (due to weather) I need a more powerful truck than my half ton. It's mountainous terrain between here and there. That paired with the fact that I am still preparing a spot to park my new driver..... I felt that waiting a few months makes sense and is less costly. I am still waiting on pictures and information about the other car as well. I'll keep you guys posted and when my new driver is home I will post pictures.
