Hood pin question

I've seen some with sheet metal screws that attach the the "cup" to the hood and others that bolt through with a nuts on the backside. Which are better? Looks like sheet metal screws is the stock way?

Sheet metal screws, the ones supplied by Dales Cuda Shop are very close to the originals R/T specialties may also have them.
