I've been going through Broadcast sheet Information for the '72 models- much simplified after they cancelled most of the options of the previous years

Don't have a lot of actual data- just a few sheets that were posted on line and biased toward equipped 340 cars (Until fairly recently the only 72-74s worth keeping original or restoring in popular opinion).  I've come up with the following engine part options from actual sheets:

661   318-2 Automatic Trans no A/C
663   318-2 Automatic Trans with A/C
680   340-4 Manual Trans no A/C no N95
686   340-4 Automatic Trans no A/C no N95
784   340-4 Automatic Trans no  A/C with N95
785   340-4 Automatic Trans with A/C with N95

Since A/C wasn't available on the 225 slant 6 and the 4 speed not available with the 318 for '72 it seems the following combinations may possible:

318 Manual Trans no A/C
Different Assembly for California Emissions 318
225 manual and Automatic Trans versions- Federal and California- according to AMA specs California Only had Air Injection system for '72

Also- AMA specs suggests availability of a 7-1/4  2.76 rear for low performance auto trans applications but doesn't seem to match parts catalog info- anybody ever see a later E body with anything other than an 8-3/4 from the factory?

it appears that the B-bodies share the small block engine assemblies with the E-bodies

664  318-2 Automatic Trans with A/C (unknown N95 status)
687  340-4 Automatic Trans with A/C (unknown N95 status)

782  340-4 Manual Trans no A/C with N95

Getting a pretty good picture of the V8 options with only 15 or so broadcast sheets- found a few interesting '72 quirks
