1973Barracuda

Finally, after hoardinging parts, and working overseas, I am finally going to slip my 6.1 in when I get back in late August/September..

The car-73 Barracuda, 318, 904, 3.55, A/C, PS, PDB, JY9

the goods-stock 6.1, TTI headers, Holley HP to run the EFI

other stuff-I will rebuild the front end, lord it needs it. I have Hotchkis uppers, 1.03 TBs, Bilsteins ready to go.

This week, I will place my order for a A41 OD transmission. I decided this instead of the a518 I have sitting in the garage. Will sell that in the future with the e body mount.

I am trying to get a few questions answered from Dr Diff before placing my order for a Dana. Decided against the 8 3/4 incase I want more power in the future. Buy once, cry once.

I think I will choose 3.54 for the rear, looking at my cruise rpm at 70 with my 17 inch wheels should be about 2250 or so. Order goes in this week for the Dana, and will do discs back there as well.

This build will take some time as I rotate from Afghanistan to the states throughout the year.

Will be looking for advice and feedback throughout the build. Stoked.

Would throw a pic of my car if I could get my air drop to work!

@303 Mopar @Chryco Psycho @GoodysGotaCuda

These guys have been there, done that, maybe they can chime in for ya.

Thanks for serving and thanks for sharing.  Sounds fun.  Hopefully you can find the time or pay someone to help you if you run out of time.

Sounds like a good plan and a fun build to watch!  There are a few of use who have done a Gen III swap, so your in good company here and should have plenty of support.

Not active anymore, retired a few years ago, doing the contracting thing now. Trying to set myself up for the future.

, 1.03 TBs, I'd suggest bigger, I'm using 1.120 from FF

I'd suggest the true trac I have it and love it! I at first went with 3:55 but swapped that out for 4:10, I'd strongly suggest 3:73 ratio! not 3:55

Brad,

I bought those 1.03s a while back on sale, they are brand new, will use them for a bit since I have them. But after reading lots of threads since, I do wish I bought bigger.

The 3.73, at 70, puts me at 2437 or so. Good cruising rpms?

Brad,

After doing some calculations, just changing my tires from 45 to 55 would drop my rpms if I really wanted. Advice taken on the rear gear.

1973Barracuda

A41 ordered. Set to be delivered about 1 September.

Now if I can just get the rear end ordered I will be all set......to probably have more work to do than I will possibly be able to get done while I am in the states.

A41 showed up today. I am out of town for a few days. Will get some pics going when I get back in Charleston.

I agree on the rear gear, go at least 3.73.
I have 3.73 with 275/40/18 and a 518 and it's perfect for cruise.
2500rpm at 80mph

Ok, here is my next dent in my bank account-

Fuel lines, has anyone here used one of the kits from Tanksinc?

I have the stock 5/16 on there now, need 3/8 for future upgrades I think.

If someone has used one, which kit? They have a few with different fittings.

I made my own system up, but go with -6AN. Those two kits are different, one has a filter regulator, other looks to have just a filter.

I ordered the kit from Tanks with the filter/regulator.  Works well with my 392!
