What is the correct rear view mirror for a 70 A66 challenger. Is this mirror a one year only or did many car lines use them. Also if any one has a picture. Also do the sun visors hook into the mirror for support. . Thanks Rob.

Chryco Psycho

If you are asking about the interior mirror on the windshield I am not aware of any changes between the years

Lemontwist

I'm pretty sure all four years of the E-Body uses the same mirror, and yes the visors hook into the mirror.

Yes the interior mirror. Ive had it safely stored away with a pair of sun visors. the sun visors don't mount in my car, maybe cuda/dart visors ? I was worried the mirror was wrong  also. Now I just need to find the proper sun visors.

What do the visors look like? Too long, too short?

I'm pretty sure that '70 & '71 had a chrome lever that moved left and right to switch between night and day (my '70 does) and that '72 and up had a plastic tab that moved forward and backwards for night and day switching. Also, the '70, '71 had the words NIGHT & DAY etched into the mirror. EDIT: added picture of mine.

:iagree: 70 and 71 are different than 72-74.

Yes. A66 1970 340 Challengers did.

A93 70-71 E-body "coupes" did not standard. It was optional.

:iagree:

I believe they looked different from the backside, 70-71 had a "rib" thing going on and 72-74 didn't.

Here's some more "Mirror" info from the '70 '71 Parts Book.

The sun visors do NOT clip into the rear view mirror on the 72-74 style base.  The end of the visor just floats.  The visors on my 73 are difficult to move.  Maybe they added a larger spring on the end so they would be stable without the extra support.

RJChallenger

Thanks everyone. I'm very happy to see that the mirror ive stored for 30 something years is the proper mirror . My sun visors are free floating, maybe 73/74. Im going to look at some visors this weekend. What #'s should i be looking for? The sun visor that doesn't fit my car is # 3670114

More pics from my Parts Book. The part numbers don't look like they conform to the typical Mopar format.
B, J, Hardtop = 1102(color)
B, J, Convert = 1120(color)
Yes, there's a physical difference between hardtops and convertibles. Here's a picture of my aftermarket spare convertible visors too.
