Not an E body but looking to install a vintage air system in my 71 road runner. Both Classic air and Vintage air only list  systems up to 1970. This is a non A.C. car and need to know what evap box will fit my car. Any help much appreciated.

Interesting question...I'm sure you could make their box fit, but I just it's their "sure fit" kit that won't work because they are not making the control panel for 71 B Bodies...You could possibly adapt the E Body controls, but it would take some creativity for sure...

Or maybe look into one of their universal control panels that would fit the hole in your dash ? :dunno:

Sorry, my above picture might be misleading...The control picture I found on the internet above, is not one of their universal kits, but rather an optional kit for 67-72 GMC trucks...I chose it, because it looked close is size and it can be bought separately, but a phone call would have to take place to confirm compatibility . They have a pretty good tech line if you need help.

got Ideas for the control over on B bodies, no dash cutting but no help on what evap box will mate to the firewall. Vintage suggested their gen IV magnum kit. I was thinking and E body kit since the engine compartments are similar.

With the recent build I'm doing I started with the E Body kit, but moved the box over a good 10" to the right, so basically I just modified all the mounting brackets and put the box where I wanted....I'm sure you can do the same without too much hassle. The supplied firewall plate will likely need some finesse , but you can make anything work...

I've never tried doing the installation myself, but maybe it's a good idea. The presence of air conditioning makes driving more comfortable because you stop constantly thinking about the heat or cold. And you really enjoy the ride and concentrate on the road. I tried installing air conditioning, but my local experts said they hadn't done it before and refused to do the job. I have a friend who did this with the help of the guys from https://www.airconservicingsingapore.com/. They did a great job, and now he has a new life behind the wheel of his car. I would like to use their services. Therefore, they did their work very carefully and skillfully. It is a pity that they are so far away, but if anyone desires to help me, you are welcome.

Jack, a 71-74 B body factory A/C box bolts right into an E body...  Controls your gonna have to figure out but the box should bolt right in..

Thanks Randy. I thought the stock boxes might  be close but not sure where to mount on the cowl/firewall. While Vintage air doesn't have a sure fit system listed for the later B bodies you still use the same evap box for the E bodies and use a universal mounting  bracket. I purchased a mock up box from Vintage to help locate the box for install and will put the instrument/dash frame in to check for clearance.
