Time to address the mismatched vent cable knobs on the wife's 1971 R/T Challenger.

The car has a 1/27 SPD and has a number of 1970 parts on it including a 1970 style trunk floor.

So does anyone know what month the vent knobs were changed?

I have visions of the wife's car on the assembly line when the last of the 1970 style knobs ran out so they installed one of the new cable and knobs right next to the 1970 one.

Is it possible to remove and replace just the knob or do I need a whole new cable?

Thanks.

Square knobs on my 08-1970 1971 R/T, I'd think I need the round ones...

Does your Challenger have the upper shock bolt access from the top like the 1970 models?

No... but lots of sheetmetal was replaced when the car was ''restored'', with what was available 10-12 years ago.

Can't tell you which is correct but fwiw I think the square ones look allot better.... Which means I know which one I'd replace....

I don't know a date of change either. I also prefer the square ones.
