I purchased a '70 4 light bar from Ivestors and structurally it is great shape. However, you can see it needs to be repainted.  I tried a search for posts on restoring a light bar but didn't find what I was looking for.  I have a few questions for those who have done this before.

  • What is the correct paint code or color and finish for the dash bar?
  • Is it a must to remove the lenses to restore the bar?
  • If I must remove the lenses, what rivet size are they?

I really don't want to take the lenses out because they are in great shape and I'm afraid they would get damaged.  I can use a model brush to paint the rivets and I can mask the lenses.

Flat/mat black. Tape off the lenses.
Growing older is mandatory...growing up is optional.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

:iagree:   Pretty easy and it looks like you have a nice light bar to start with too!  And this looks to be the rare 1970 Challenger light bar.  1 year only rare part!  Nice find.
