Gas Cap

Hey guys,


I had to change my fuel neck filler, so i ordered one listed as 71-74  for my 71 Challenger with flip top gas cap.

Now, i can't put the gas cap on it...
Look at the difference, i have small pins on my gas cap and the filler need large ones...

What sort of gas cap do i need please??

Won't the small pins fit in the larger holes ?

Yes they do but the cap is not deep enough to push and turn

Obviously i bought a 70 fuel neck filler...
Therefore listed as 71 et + on tamraz...

NAPA carries the cap, or they did a few years ago anyway.

Rock Auto probably has the cap as well , crazy how thay changed so much between 70 -71 but 71 was a non vent cap , still no need to change the ears you would think
