Anyone had their woodgrain wheel hydrodipped to restore it?

Thanks

I have never seen it done but what do you have to lose  ?
Might look great ,if not you still have to restore it

There's a business here that does that. We had her do some Carbon Fibre pieces and are going to get some wheels (wheels that mount tires that is) this winter. It comes out pretty awesome. Maybe I will get 3 of my 70-71 steering wheels done, I'll price it out next time I'm over there.

I'd be curious about how it turns out too.

I'm looking at building an OEM looking custom wheel for my Barracuda and would like to have the wood grain effect.

I might give it a shot.  A friend used a guy here in IL for his car interior pieces (1923 Rolls Royce).  He is fairly finicky about them looking correct or close to correct and apparently they were originally done with a paint roller that had the grain cut into them.  The guy that he used was very meticulous and one part he did 3 times to make sure it was perfect.  Came out gorgeous.

I will try to contact the guy early next week and discuss the project with him.
