My inner sail panels are in very good condition and I had a question regarding the spray glue that was behind the cardboard pieces (that are in amazing condition).  The cardboard itself has no glue on it, but the metal structures under it do. I'm wondering if perhaps factory insulation had been there originally or if I should consider going back with it when the headliner is ready to go in. I know that the overhead area has it, because I removed the old stuff when taking down the original headliner. That glue looks similar to what's in the sail panels. Thanks in advance.

Apologies for the picture rotating. I didn't do it. Imagine it rotated 90 degrees clockwise.  :bricks: :pullinghair:

Looks like we might need some extra popcorn.

I my opinion, those sail panels were held on by clips, so the excessive amounts of glue found behind them is likely the guy who installed the headliner insulation being extremely messy. There is no insulation behind those cardboard pieces from the factory.  :alan2cents:

Precisely the answer I was looking for @anlauto
Thanks. I'd have to agree with you. And yes, the cardboard is held on by clips. All there and in very good shape. Even the headliner looked nice except for being dry rotted. I have a new liner set aside from SMS. I'm very pleased with the way I found it all.

Good day @7E-Bodies     I just pulled a sail panel that I'm quite sure has never been removed from my  A66 Challenger  I've had this car since 81. As you , my panels are in excellent condition and there is no evidence of any kind that they were glued in or had any insulation glued in the car behind these panels.  Maybe cars with A/C had additional insulation from the factory , but my car had only the roof insulated. Hope this helps
