Does anyone have a picture of the mounting of the interior rear view mirror on a 70-71 convertible ebody, specifically the base part to the windshield frame. It is apparent there is that one plate missing with the mirror I have... The one installed picture is from a reference car. The other picture is of the mirror I have.. The 3rd is the plate kit found at several places.

Thanks in advanced.

You'll need the second plate in picture three if it's not still screwed into your car.

Nope.. not in the car.. I'll have to order it.. I'm assuming these two plates, one of which I have, is what sandwiches the ball part of the mirror stem to produce friction to stay in place...

Thanks !!!

Alan.. Does the black base screw into the base I see shown in the PG Classics page? Seems that is the part I am missing.

Yea..., that triangle shaped base is what you see ..in your first picture..it looks like a very rusty screw head holding it on to the windshield frame.

That takes three screws into the frame....then the retainer bracket screws to that to hold the ball stud as you mentioned, them the rubber base of the mirror also screws to that triangle base.
