I have an original AM/FM radio in my Cuda.
It's never been re built by Wards. OEM untouched.

For those of you that have had him re do your radio; did it pull and pick up and lock in radio stations better afterwards?

Mine is having stations fade when I drive since it's analog.
Mountains around me but nothing major.

It's not engine interference that's causing it?  There is a radio suppressor that was designed to help with engine interference, but doesn't sound like that's what you are having issues with?     I'll ping Greg and see what he says....

I have a radio suppressor and running fire core wires.
No sound of rpm's coming thru the radio signal. So I think their good wires not interfering.

You could try adjusting the squelch trim pot next to the antennae input.

Be careful. Don't get caught drinking the Kool-Aid or believing the hype.

Greg said this....

"If it is a 1970 Phillips radio, those are pretty much junk and we don't work on those anymore .
However , if it is a 1971 AM FM stereo thumbwheel by Motorola , or a 72-74 Motorola we do service those.
As part of servicing the radio , we do adjust everything to obtain the best signal the radio can possibly produce.
It will preform as it did when new, nothing more, nothing less. That's a factory spec rebuild.
Converting to a modern internal board with 180 watts in AM FM stereo with aux jacks and 4 speaker ability is also an option
and the radio remains 100% stock in appearance on the outside ,if the customer wants to go that route .
Excellent sound quality and more power than you could ever need.

I was looking into the cost of getting the 8 track repaired and looks like this is the guy to do it http://www.barrys8trackrepair.com/  @ $400 for the stock repair and $525 for the conversion. for Wards it looks like the AM/FM is $245-270, not sure the cost for the conversion http://www.wardsclassiccarradiorepair.com/id1.html
