Hi All,

I was wondering if someone could please tell me, is the rear parcel shelf on E-bodies made from hardboard?  I was giving mine a clean on the weekend and the black finish seems to have rubbed through to a brown color.

Also are there plastic replacements available?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yep, it's a hard board.  No plastic replacements available that I know of.  That's a good idea though.  You could buy a sheet of 1/8" plastic and use your original as a template.  It might end up being too shiny though and I'm not sure if you'd have problems with it warping in the sun.  It might be worth a try though.

Pull it out and re-spray it flat black :alan2cents:

Thanks for the information.  Ok will pull it out and respray Matt black.
Hardboard sure is cheap.  Even my 69 Mustang has a powered coated metal panel.

Yeah, but it's not as pretty either!
