i just purchased the silversport transmission 4l60e mating up to a 392 in a 70 challenger, my question is how much modifications was need to be done to the trans tunnel or anything else. just want to see if it is modification i can do myself or do i need to intrust someone who knows what they are doing to help me.

On my 392 hemi swap with the 4L60E I bought Holley's motor mounts that moved the engine forward a inch and never had to modify the tunnel at all but there transmission mount had to be extended as it is not long enough so you can't put the bolts in the mount. I got some 4 inch channel and cut there's off and welded my own on there mount. I did bend the pinch weld for more clearance to silver sports auto transmission bell housing. it was said to be one inch but take a look at the picture and you will see how short the bracket was. The second picture is with the channel I cut and welded on. Hope this helps.
