Hello to the forum, long time die hard Mopar addict since the 80's . Local e-town area. Have owned many mopars (cars and trucks) throughout the years. E-bods were a 70 Challenger Convert Plum/White 318 3 spd project (sold- went to Canada in 2001) 71 Cuda triple black 383, 71 Challenger w/super clean body, All have since been sold. Currently working on this : One owner 73 Cuda 340 4pd 46k orig miles. Local car stored since '86  All documentation paperwork including the warranty card. No rot (yeah, un -believable for a north east car) Also un-believable is all the bushings and weatherstrip are in excellent condition. Just got it fired up. Also working on a 62 Dodge Polara 500. Glad to be back in the hobby again after a long hiatus.

Thanks for the welcome..Now i just gotta figure out what direction to take the Cuda in.The car is almost original. the previous owner put in a cam, 273 adjustable rockers, holley 600 dp, edelbrock torker intake, headers and the rims. I have the original TQ carb, intake and air cleaner assembly. the only things  didn't get were the exhaust manifolds and the stock steel rims, which a family member i bought the car from said was pitched as soon as it came home. I just had the original radiator re-cored, the Holley 600 was sent out and re-built, new water pump , and master cylinder and front brake hoses. I soaked down the cylinders for a month and turned it by hand, i used the priming tool to spin the oil pump on a drill with a mechanical gauge and got 45 lbs oil pressure. Fresh Valvoline VR1, Napa gold filter and Champ plugs. Engine fired up no problems with the original plug wires and dist, cap and rotor. Its till wearing the original belts and hoses (from the 80's ?).  Some people say don't restore the car leave it as a barn find etc. Or at least don't paint it. Interior will need the front seat and the passenger seat bottom redone, carpet, and possibly a headliner. Roof will need a few dings popped out and a small hole repaired where a cb antenna was. Will need a new grille. Exhaust is original except for the headers which aren't in that great of shape and a small hole in a pipe by the axle. Thoughts?

Welcome from about 10 miles away. Mostly original car I'd run it for a season as is, get the bugs out and then make a decision on which way to go. Once you start it'll probably be years before you drive it again depending on what direction you take.

I agree, minimal changes, drive and enjoy it!

:iagree: It's your car so you should do what makes you happy. Get it running and enjoy it until you decide exactly what you want to do. Total restoration costs would probably exceed the finished value so I wouldn't necessarily recommend that plan. I would want to get the paint and body work at least straightened out because most people won't understand "original " condition and most of them will frown on the condition of the car. If possible, create a budget and try to stick to it. Hopefully you can do most of the body/paint work which is about 30% (or so) of the cost of most restorations. Good luck and keep us posted on progress.
