Hey Steve...great to see you on here.
Glad to see you saw the light and finally got another E-body.

I still remember in the dead of the winter, you and your buddy, both with blue lips from a non working vehicle heater showing up for that convertible quarter.
Good news for your friend...beer stores are open on Sunday now in Ontario !! :drinkingbud:

njsteve

Hey Terry!

You mean this quarter panel right here?

Long time no hear! Yeah that was 1985? And my college buddy only went along because he thought he could buy some Canadian beer up there (but it was a sunday! DOH!). And we were in my Dad's POS Jeep Wagoneer with the frikken heater that stopped working just as we left NY state. We hit a blizzard on the way and the NYSP closed the highways with us still on them. Four feet of lake effect snow fell in a matter of hours. The snow was so deep it was rolling over the hood of the Jeep and it packed into the radiator and actually stopped the fan clutch from spinning. 12 hours later (for a 3 hour trip) we got back to Hamilton NY and I got out and kicked the side of the Jeep and the f$%&&n heater motor immediately starts spinning again.

Yeah that was fun!

Got any parts? I need a full 70 grill with lenses. The headlight buckets on the car are cracked and missing pieces. The grill is repairable, Heck I think i made a good 71 grill for that 383 junkyard ragtop out of the scraps of four broken grills back in the day.

Here is the thread of the car build over at Yenko.net. I have the same handle over there. The thread was started by Dave ("A12Pilot") and he is doing the body and paint for me and then i will pick it up and do the rest.

Yes those were good times then.
If I'm not mistaken you had that 6 pack 4 speed convertible finished and at the Mopar Nats the following year at Ann Arbor, Mi.
I remember you saying that was the last NOS Cuda convertible quarter in existence.
Maybe not quite...Clayton from WV has another for sale over on the other site..$15,000.00
Makes your seem like a bargain at $450.00.
I was glad to know it was going on a quality car.
Parts are not as plentiful today as they were in the 80's but I still dabble a bit.
Be nice for others here to hear your story about that convertible when you found it :o

Welcome to the site from another Canadian in Cambridge and I'm just jealous as hell over all the nice cars you have and had. Congrats and good luck with the new acquisition!

& from the Yenko thread ..... the only other "ERIE" dealership I have info on is:

ERIE J MILLER INC
320 ELMIRA RD
ITHACA NY 14850

later became: Mike Barker Inc. (this ad from '85) & the location is currently a Hyundai dealership  :dunno:

Ha ha remarkable resume and welcome from Joisey.

The story on the Hemi Cuda Vert is classic . You must be an attorney.  :) Ive been told that at times as well.

How did you ever spend 15 years on Pochos? What models? Gotta be GTOs?

njsteve

After the Cudas, I had a few Chargers, then a Chevy, then the Pontiacs...

Here's the Chargers:

71 EV2 hemi/auto Sunroof car (the one Tim Wellborn just sold) here's a photo from Atco Raceway. Turned a 13.8
69 Y2 hemi/auto Daytona probably one of one with a black cloth insert interior
70 FE5 hemi R/T-SE 4-speed 17,000 miles (owned that the longest from 1987 to 2013) Ran a 12.77 at Bradenton FL. The infamous "Ricky Wickberg" Hemi. Full comic story is here: https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=77085&page=3

And a family photo taken back in 1990 before I moved down south to meet my wife (who I happily gave up a million bucks for!)

Welcome from Ontario

Have you ever sat down and did the math on what kind of money you'd be sitting on if you didn't have to sell any of your cars back in the day.........You have had some beauties!!

Cool!  I did a little research and that dealer seemed to go by the full name in all their ads. It started out in 1930 and the actual man Erie J. Miller passed away in 1964, then his brother Bob Miller ran it til his death in 1979. I don't see that "ERIE" font used in any of their advertisements. That would have been his first name on an ad which would have been rather presumptuous back in the day . ;-)
Anyone have and info on the ERIE Chrysler Plymouth in Ohio?
