Hi everyone,

Been off the Mopar grid for about 2 years. I own a 1971 Challenger, then just about a Month ago I picked up a 1970 Barracuda. The Barracuda relit the passion and shortly after that I found this Forum. I've been nosing around for a while now so I thought I'd take the time to make an entrance.

I'm married and have a Military background. (20 yr. USAF.) Self employed. Restoring classic cars for a living.(Oklahoma Street Machines.) I found the Barracuda by mistake when my buddy and I went to Arkansas to pick up a 426 Hemi for a 1966 Coronet he's putting together. The Hemi owner also had two 1971 'Cudas for sale for...$2500. Which had my interest. Two could be made into one project.

Well, it was confirmed that the 'Cudas were sold before we could make arrangements to visit...for $2000 plus a third one thrown in to get them out of the shop. My loss for not moving quick. The gentleman did mention he had another Barracuda that he didn't mention to anyone else at his home.

What he showed us once we got to the garage was a 1970 Barracuda pushed off to the side of the garage covered up in tarps and moving blanket's and junk. The junk on the car was removed and it revealed a Limelight green rust free Barracuda. All disassembled.

Limelight green,440/4 speed. Dana 60 rear. Shaker. New interior. New bumpers. New wheels and caps. Go Wing. New grill. New wiring harness. Rebuilt suspension. Hemi/440 K member. Four wheel disc brakes and much more. Now, just be up front, this is a 6 cylinder car that was being cloned to a V code by the prior owner till the restoration stalled.  No paper work or fender tag. Just a VIN.

He lost interest and wanted to restore an early 70's Scout. So, I bought it. (No body work!!!)

Didn't mean to go so long, but the passion is back. Here's some pictures. Later I'll post pictures of what's sitting out in his field.

First five are at his garage shortly after it was uncovered. The last is in my garage (overflow) till I get an open spot in the shop.

  Welcome to the site from Buffalo, NY.   Your story has a definite flavor of "when one [car] door closes, another opens."   Glad you were able to find something to light your fire.   Since I struggle doing body work well, from my perspective you're off to a great start with your "new" car.   Best of luck on completing it.
