Hi,

Looking for a starter for my 1970 challenger 440-4, prior to 10/69.

Thanks
Mike

I don't know the p/n's on different starters but I believe different starters were for different engines.

i.e: /6 and 318 vs. 440/6 & Hemi were different amount of windings.

Contact Dixie Restoration. Perhaps he has one you need, or a lead.

Are you looking for correct period starter?  If not, my vote is for a mini starter.

Nope.

There are three different part numbers involved if I remember for parts shlep in the 80s.  The reman numbers....

3250 - 69 and older - all but 69 hemi 4 speed
3257 - 70 and up
3258 - 70 and up HD

I think your 440 would take the 3257

Calling Dave at Dixie would be the best bet to make sure you get what you want if you are checking a date code.

@Michael_B767_ATP I know this was an old thread, but did you ever have any luck? I'm currently looking for one for my 11/4/69 440 4.
