I need a backing plate for the right rear drum brake on a 74 Challenger. Having trouble finding one. Would prefer new but good used is ok. Any leads? Also is right and left the same or are they different?

They should be the same as B body backing plates. Summit lists a new one for $36.99 but I'm not sure if it is the size you need. I would give them a call. It is part number MOP-05191298AA.

Right and left are different because of the parking brake cables. I assume you have the stock 10" rear drum brakes ?

If you can't find just the one you need, I have a complete 8 3/4 out of a 1973 Cuda. I won't be using the drum brakes at all, you can have everything for both sides for $50, but you'd have to help me take it all apart. :lookatthat:  and you would have to take everything.... :bricks:

@57Fury440 I talked to Summit this morning and they don't have it. That one you listed is for late model vehicles.

@anlauto I figured they were different. Yes I have stock 10" drums. I'll take you up on your offer. Maybe tomorrow if that works for us both. I'll let you know this evening. Thanks.

I'll work it in on a trip to Kathy's Ian. No point in travelling the same roads twice with the price of gas.
