Hey all, I'm doing this for a friend over on the Facebook side. Some of you may have seen his posts. His name is Travis Sparks and he's doing an amazing bronze colored Challenger. Very talented guy. He helps cancer stricken families and is himself a survivor that still copes with the after affects. He's looking for something that should be very simple for anyone with extra steering column parts laying around. He needs the part he terms as "the spring washer in a 74 challenger steering column, some people call it a wavy washer". If someone has one, I'd pay them and the shipping to him on the east coast. He's just that good of a guy that helps everyone he can. Can anyone help?

I may have 1. I will look tonight after work. Ping me this evening if I haven't gotten back to you, sometimes I forget things...

Thank you @JonH I will definitely check back with you.

Well unfortunately I can't help you. Thought maybe I would have one in spare parts from a second steering column that came with my car, but I was wrong. Has he tried Mcmaster? They have some of that type of stuff...Sorry if I got your hopes up...

@JonH no problem and thanks for trying. Do you mean McMaster Carr?

Since this washer is not under a lot of stress or pressure, should be easy to make one if you need.

I'd gladly make one for this guy if someone would kindly sketch out the dimensions. Would they possibly be the same dimensions all 5 years?

I found one, in my junk drawer. The dimensions are hard to take, given the curved nature, of the part. Here is what I came up with:

Outside diameter- 1.800 inches
Inside diameter - 1.50 inches
Width of band - .160 inches
Metal thickness - .30 inches

The math does not add up, exactly, but that is what I came up with.

What exactly is the function, of this part? If I don't need it, I'll be happy to send it. I am unsure of the year column that it came out of.

@floorit426 thank you! I can't say for sure where it goes as I'm not there yet with my own project. As stated, this is for a friend that's in assembly phases now on a stunning resto...a guy that lives for helping families stricken by cancer and a survivor himself. I'd really love to just get him one if possible. If it's something you don't have any use for, I'd pay for the ride and whatever you'd have to get to make it fair. Let me know and thanks again!
