Looking for a complete set of seat belts for 1970. I am looking for a set that can be cleaned up and installed. Not looking to send out for restoration. Would be interested in original or reproduction for the right price. Thank you.

A full set where the tips and buckles are not rusty, and the isn't chrome flaking off (cuts your fingers) will set you back $800 or more.

I looked for 5 years, off and on, for a set in the under-$400 range and finally gave up.

Last year, I ordered a set that includes the standard buckles and look the most like the OEM originals I have seen.
I bought mine from PG Classics for around $500 and I was really pleased with the result.

Many who are looking to replace entire sets opt to change the OEM shoulder belt to the customary 3-point system used in cars, modern-day.

I would concur with pschlosser - if you need a set now for a great price, go with PG Classics. I have talked with a few people and they like them. The only caveat is the company only has a limited selection of colors (none of the odd-ball ones you could get in '70, like Dark Burnt Orange). Also, they don't have the labels either (which is another $250 for a complete set of belts). And the company doesn't sell the Deluxe seat belts as well. I did mine and it was north of $1,200 for all of it, with original webbing and labels (1971 Deluxe belts/labels/1970 retractors). And I supplied all the cores too. You can see my post in my build thread.

If you're looking for a complete set of standards you'll pay the amount mentioned. It's better if you really need an original set to piece it together over time. Buy one here and there at swap meets. I just bought a set of retractors that are in good, rebuildable shape for $80 at Fall Fling. I plan to piece together a set of 1971 Deluxe seat belts with 1970 retractors. They is NO WAY to find a real set of 1970 Deluxe seat belts - they don't exist. The standards are available, but normally not a complete set.

Good luck on your decision.

I have asked before about this.  Could you please post some pictures of the belts you received from PG Classic? The pictures should be helpful to the person who started this topic, and also to me and others.

Thanks,

Here is a listing for the PG Classics belts.  I bought a set they have for my '71 over 10 years ago after I got the car and found all but the shoulder belts missing in the car, actually I bought B, E & A's set, but Mike was in a partnership with PG and they would have been the same parts.
Prices up since then, by about 50%!

PG Classics has sales from time to time, so might be worth it to wait for the next one they offer.

Yes, EXACTLY why I'm asking for real pictures of them, not some link, as this link shows a 1970 set with 1971 chrome ends on them.
Or, did you fail to see that??

OK - I have asked my buddy who's purchased two sets of PG Classics to send me a picture of the actual seat belts for reference. (It will take a few weeks to post here.) You can check out my build post for a pix of the restored ones. From my perspective, there's a material and huge difference between the two, but each person must decide for themselves of course.
