Sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Most of the people I know that have caught it have fortunately just had the "bad flu" version that knocked them on their butts for a 3-7 days.   They mostly slept their way through it as they lacked energy to do anything else.  I don't think they found any meds that helped.  The one person with other health conditions was hospitalized with lung issues and nearly died, so if breathing difficulties appear don't wait to get help  :alan2cents:

Quercetin tablet and zinc. You donít need a lot of zinc, about half of one 25mg tablet a day. And donít take it with anything that blocks zinc absorption. Same mechanism as Hydroxychloroquine.

Sorry to see you tested positive.
Don't think there's any 'tips or tricks' that make a difference. You're gonna be tired. If breathing becomes more difficult, get to the ER.
Everybody I know that got the virus got through it fairly easily. One lost his sense of smell. It returned after two weeks or so.
Hope you get through it without too much bother.

That has helped several folks I know.
I do have a few friends who lost their smell and taste for like 2 months.
Also a couple that were still exhausted for a month after.

I just lost an aunt of sorts.  And her parents received it from her before she passed. She was very over weight and her parents are very old.    Comorbidities are the main issue with this virus.

If you have any comorbidities, you really need to be more careful with the virus.  The only folks I know that have passed have all had  other very serious health issues or are very old.

My wife got it back in September.  She isolated herself in our bedroom and I worked from home for 3 weeks.  My daughter and I didn't get it.  My wife lost her sense of taste and smell and she hasn't gotten it back.  She's afraid it's gone for good.  Occasionally, she will get a hint of a smell but it doesn't last long.  She's really upset about it.

Nothing more to add about how to beat it other than my doctor told me to hydrate if I ever do get it.  That's key.  Don't get dehydrated.

Hoping everything passes in time.
A couple Mopar friends of mine contacted it, one had a tough week with it but got through, the other just lost smell and taste for a while and that was it.
Take care of yourself

My wife and I both had it in December.  Muscle aches, cold chills, headaches for a day or two.  Took a while for lungs to clear and smell to return.  The longest lasting effect was fatigue.  You'd feel OK until you start doing something strenuous, then realize you weren't back to normal yet.   Thankfully, it was no worse than that for us.

Check with your physician/clinic about monoclonal antibody therapy if you are at higher risk. Lying prone  (on your stomach) still seems to help with breathing and can't hurt.

Hmmm no one has mentioned this . . I heard that vitamin D is something you should be taking if you get this strain of the flu . . have some friends and family that have had the virus.  My father in law is in his 70's, has multiple health issues including stage 4 cancer and had pretty much no symptoms and was told he has the virus.

I hope that anybody who gets this dreadful bug gets over it quickly and without complications. I know two people who passed due to blood clots caused by their body's reaction to this virus, both of them were in their 40's and not in terrible health....

Let me preface this with the fact that I am not a doctor and I did NOT stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It is my understanding that the best defense to prevent contracting the Rona and to reduce the symptoms if you do catch it is to take Vitamin C & D, Zinc and Quercetin.

I take the following in the morning and at night:

500MG Vitamin C
2000iu Vitamin D3
75MG Zinc
500MG quercetin

All the best, to all of you. :)

Tom, I am so very sorry to hear of your positive Covid diagnosis. I hope you can weather the storm and come through it with no problems. My thoughts will be with you and your family.
I live in SoCal not far from LA so this area has been a hotbed of Covid activity. My wife and I received our second vaccination of the Moderna on Valentines Day this year. My wife received no symptoms from the second inoculation however I was wiped out the very following day with extreme flu type symptoms. We have been trying to be very cautious with leaving anywhere from home, and to my wifeís dismay that goes for any contact with our Sonís and our grandkids (5). We are both Seniors my wife in her late 60ís and I am in my mid 70ís, we still are careful in whatever we do. Remember you have people here that are concerned with your wellness.   Al

@Spikedog08 (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/4cruzin_11) I concur. It's highly suspected that I had Covid (right before it got famous). The doctor that treated me highly suspected it due to symptoms. I refuse to allow the swabs as I don't trust them, nor the jab. It was like a bad cold and a cough that followed for two months. A few months later, my 19 year old son contracted it. He got tested before I could stop him. Positive result. He was in the house with my wife and I for the two week quarantine and neither of us contracted it. He had very minor symptoms like a light cold. Both my wife and I take vitamin D3 and Zinc. My high school buddy/best friend is a 6 way bypass recipient that had a heart attack two years ago and is diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He contracted Covid from his son and recovered fine. He got prescribed Prednisone (sp) for minor shortness of breath and a cough and was about completely healed after the second dose. @RzeroB (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/rzerob_126) get well soon and fear not.

Tom, I hope you get well soon and experience very few symptoms if any.  I get bulletins ~three times a week from the VA Health Care System. I have read several articles that state a majority of covid-19 victims who passed, were deficient in Vitamin D, white blood cells, and their platelet count was low.  Gotta be vigilant during these times to survive. Take all necessary precautions.

Sorry to hear that and hope you recover soon. Cases in US subsided and better care and hospital beds are available now. It should continue go down as more and more people are vaccinated and that if we can manage to keep the new strains outside our border. Can't say the same about India. Many people die daily over there with only 2% of population got the vaccine.

I've not had it but lost my 70 year old uncle to it last fall, he went from not feeling well one day, getting tested a couple of days later to being in ICU on a ventilator two days later never to come out of the hospital. Other than being overweight he had no extraordinary health issues.
My advice is don't try & be a hero, get with your physician ASAP before pneumonia sets in and get on preventative meds.
Best wishes for a rapid recovery..

@7E-Bodies (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/7e-bodies_436)  I have a similar story . . I think I had it November 2019.  I had a cough from Hell . . Would wake up in the middle of the night and have to go out into the living room and cough my brains out.  Coughed so much my insides hurt . . Just never felt like I coughed anything up, dry heaves . . Was terrible.  Got better but the cough lasted about 4 or 5 months.   Went to the doctor finally and was told I have bronchitis.   I questioned that but had not heard of COVID at the time I went.  It was later I put it all together.  Never had a fever or anything other than that nasty cough . .

@Spikedog08 (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/4cruzin_11) our story is pretty much identical right down to the month and year except thankfully, that horrid cough left me at almost two months exactly. Coughed so much that it plugged my ears and made my tinnitus nearly permanent. Thankfully that's now being corrected by an audiology doc that specializes in it. However, I have had a history of bronchitis since childhood and it's not all that out of the ordinary for me to develop a lasting cough after a cold. Me and that doc are betting it was covid based on onset and symptoms. Hope you're still on the mend, brother.

Will second this immune boost supplements cocktail.
Not a doctor and don't play one on TV.
Daily
     500MG Vitamin C
     2000iu Vitamin D3
     75MG Zinc
     500MG quercetin

Taking the above plus Melatonin.

Have heard there are some promising studies (outside the US) that include Ivermectin.
It's supposed to slow replication and shorten duration.
Check with your doctor

I have read a TON about Vitamin D / Zinc / Quercetin.. Nothing on the Melatonin yet. What's it give you other than a great night's sleep? :) Is it just to ensure you get enough Zzzz's for your immune system to recharge?

Cleveland Clinic study found people with higher levels of melatonin were less effected by SARS-CoV-2.

It's thought to block a potential receptor site for virus proteins.

I had it last July. The worst sickness I have ever had. Kicked my ass for a month.  Had terrible chills--could not get warm, lost my since of smell and taste, could not eat. Laid on the couch pretty much delusional with a fever for about 12 days. Even went to the ER at one point only to be told there was nothing they could do and to just ride it out. The only thing that saved me was it never effected my respiration. I also have diabetes and heart problems so it was pretty scary. Lost 25 lbs from not being able to eat (have since re found it). After about 2 weeks I started to get a bit better but I was completely weak and any exertion would just exhaust me. Took another 2 weeks to get my strength back. Drank a lot of gator aid and other liquids. Staying hydrated definitely helped a lot.  Hope you only have a mild case and a speedy recovery.

I had it at the beginning of March.  I felt under the weather for about a day, but by no means bad enough to think I had it.  Hell, I've had worse hangovers.  I lost my taste and smell a few days later after that when I felt normal, which prompted me to get tested and sure enough I had it so I had to do the quarantine thing.  Other than that one day, I felt fine.  My senses came back slowly over a few weeks.  I could sort of taste saltiness, and maybe the slightest hint of sweetness, but that was it.  So weird!

Stay positive, take vitamins/supplements, rest as needed, force yourself to eat (not easy when all you can't taste), and hydrate!

I know people who never felt sick and had it, and I know others who said it was the worse illness they've ever had, and others have died.  I think health and age are the biggest factors just like they are for any illness.

Your first four days are going to tell how you will go.  if you get really sick quickly and incapacitated in any way, you will end up in a hospital.  With a poor prognosis.
If you get pretty sick, but are still able to function in some way, you may just have a tough course that has to be monitored closely.  Lots of potential risk of lung issues, vascular issues, and stroke.  Plus long term issues.
You can get symptoms, feel ill, but do relatively well, chances are you will be fine
You can have mild symptoms and feel well soon.
You can have no symptoms and still be positive.

This virus is tough.  Nobody is safe.  There are a wide range of effects and it is impossible to predict the course of the virus for any individual.  Please isolate while you are ill.  Please monitor your health and breathing.  Do not wait to  long to get medical help.  Have a support person to help you with your needs.  Stay hydrated and moving if you can.  It will prevent blood clots and stroke.
I hope your case is mild and short lasting.  Please stay safe and get well soon.

All the quercetin does is allow the zinc to pass through the cell wall so that it can be used.  If you have too much zinc in your system though, it won't work as well.  So like I said, half of a 50mg tab per day is fine.  I think the Quercetin is a 250mg tab, one per day. A lot of grain products will block zinc absorption so take it with something like egg or a slice of cheese so it's not so rough on your stomach.  You can also drink green tea with EGCG.  The quercetin/zinc regimen works as a preventative as well, and use a vitamin-c lozenge if you are in a crowd; covid can hang out at the back of the throat and the C will kill it.

Politics aside, covid-19 seems custom designed to target people on a western diet.

My daughter is a nurse in NYC and was using this combination of vitamins for months before the vaccines were available, she was exposed to this virus daily all last year and never got it.

Very encouraging about your daughter avoiding it. It seems to have worked for me as well if Iím not immune. Remember that the jab isnít actually a vaccine. Itís a mass experiment not sanctioned by the FDA that is sheltered from legal ramifications. All the red flags are well in view.

"Clear and Present Danger", friends. Take the shots now. So many have already done it so you are safe. I finished my second about three weeks ago. Felt sick like having a flu but only with very low grade fever for two days after the second shot. I am now suppose to be good for 8 months. Waiting for news on what is next.

I hope anyone who gets recovers without any major issues. My wife was sick a while back and had to get tested to go back to work, a rapid test and 48 hour test were both negative but nurse said she had covid due to her symptoms - so much for accurate tests/diagnosis. She did not quarratine from my son and I so if she had it we were exposed, she had bascically a stomach bug and we had no symptoms so who knows if we had it or not.   :dunno: My wife and I have decided to not get the vaccine at this time as we believe there is too much risk/unknown  to it at this point.

A completely reasonable viewpoint. If a person is not comfortable with something being injected into them, they should not be forced/coerced into getting it. Maybe your comfort level will change over time..maybe not.
I'm scheduled to be jabbed in two weeks. It will be the second mRNA vaccine I have received. The first was a couple years ago. I'm comfortable with getting another.

I had my first shot (Moderna) a couple weeks ago and had zero side effects, not even a sore arm.
I hear that most people feel sick after getting the second one.
They set up shots at work. Ironically a coworker of mine got his shot the same day as me, and 9 days later told me he had Covid!
That was last Monday, but he was IMing me the next day he was trying to get his mom or his girlfriend to go to the store and pick him up ingredients to bake a pizza, I guess as Covid infections go his must have been on the lowest end of the seriousness scale!  :haha:
Hopefully that first shot gives you some degree of protection and thatís why his case was so mild.

I stopped paying attention to national polls a long time ago since they are so flawed and usually biased.
I only believe polls I take myself.  So far 100% of my conservative friends, coworkers and family members either have or intend to get vaccinated, and 100% of my liberal friends, coworkers and family have or intend to get vaccinated.
I hope the numbers from my unbiased scientific poll donít disappoint anybodyís ďanybody who is on the opposite end of the political spectrum from me is a knuckle dragging mouth breathing moronĒ ideal!  :D
I just hope that now that so many have been vaccinated, that car events will be getting back in gear this year, losing most of last season was devastating.
So far here, they rescheduled World of Wheels but I just heard they canceled the new date too.  Several local cruises have tentatively stated they will be going this year.
Plans for MCACN are in place, though I question if our Canadian friends will still be locked down and unable to bring their cars or attend?
Keeping my fingers crossed....  :fingerscrossed:

@torredcuda (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/torredcuda_122) i concur. The media and big pharma seem hell bent on calling this a vaccine when even Mayo Clinic admits itís actually a clinical trial. FDA hasnít approved it as far as Iíve seen and the providers seem magically buffered from liability. Iím not anti vax by any stretch, but recently just attended a funeral for a lady that had no co morbidities that threw a clot after her second injection. My wife and adult kids are passing on this experiment until more is known. I could catch this (again) and if itís my time, Iíll be gone, but for now Iím seeing far too many reports of not so good things. One thing for sure is if I roll up a sleeve, I can never un-vaccinate.

I would be under the third option - "will probably get it eventually but will wait to see more testing/results before I do". I am not an anti-vaxer but I don`t have a lot of trust in our government with things like this and it was rushed thru and is still just approved "for emergency use" which to me means it didn`t go thru all the years of testing and trials it should have despite what they are trying to tell us.

Thanks for checking on me. I'm hanging in there. I'm still at home, so that's a lot better than being in the hospital and intubated. I have seen some of your inquiries on my iPhone but I just haven't been up to getting on the computer. I'm short of breath and out of energy. Any kind of exertion leaves me panting. To me it's not really like the flu ... it's more like being at high altitude where the air is thin and your breathing and heart rate are elevated trying to compensate for the lack of O2. I'm constantly out of breath so I'm not doing a whole lot around the house other than sleeping and watching the idiot-box. I have to wear an O2 saturation monitor and if my saturation falls below 90% I'm suppose to go to the ER. If that does happen my understanding is that they will put me on supplemental O2 with a nasal cannula. At this point that actually sounds kind of good to me! We'll see. Statistically, I should be turning the corner here any day now. Of course having it happen sooner rather than later would be my preference. Thanks again everyone for your concern and checking on me ... appreciate it.

@RzeroB (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/rzerob_126) how are you doing, brother? Haven't heard an update in a few days and was thinking about you. My son came down with covid (tested positive) and I was a tad nervous being exposed to him. In spite of bringing over the counter meds into his room and shooting his temp with a laser at close range, cleaning his "room service" dishes, I didn't contract it as of yet. His symptoms have been gone for a few days now. He just cleared his 10 day isolation and fortunately, he's had worse colds. Praying yours didn't worsen. Fill us in if you're up for it.

Tom, I hope your doing well enough for a little humor...

Went for a walk with my new girlfriend and we saw dogs mating.

She said: "How does the male know when the female is ready for sex?"

I replied: "He can smell she is ready . That's how nature works."

We then walked past a sheep field and the ram was mating the ewe.

Again my girlfriend asked: "How does the ram knew when the ewe is ready for sex?"

I replied: "It's nature. He can smell she is ready."

We then went past a cow-field and the bull was mating with the cow.

My girlfriend said: "This is odd. They are really going at it. Surely the bull can't smell when she is ready?"

I said: "Oh, yes; it's nature . All animals can smell when the female is ready for sex."

Anyway, after the walk, I dropped her home and kissed her goodbye.

She said: "Take care and get yourself checked out for Covid-19."

Surprised, "Why do you say that?" I asked her.

She replied: "You seem to have lost your sense of smell."

Glad to hear you are improving. Albeit slowly.

This disease fits the ideal scenario (sarcasm) for persons who get it.
High enough of percentage only feel the mild symptoms to allow for them to retain their beliefs that everything is blown out of proportion.
While there is also enough that have seen and experienced the worst this disease can offer.
Individual rights v/s herd rights at full play here.
I remain conflicted as I primarily agree that the vast majority is nothing but completely overblown political hype.
Feeding the fears to control the masses is #1 in the playbook.

Yet at same time I personally know (knew) 4 people who have passed from it. It is not "similar to the flu" to those who died and their surrounding families.
Burying my wife's sister this Saturday. @ only 58 she should by all accounts still be with us.
Another friend was 57. Her mom was late 70s.
They both were caring for their "I have my rights and you cannot force me to comply" daughter/granddaughter.
She has to now live with burying them both...

My advise is to live your life as you see fit. Yet at same time respect others. Carriers don't know they are for up to 2 weeks.
Sorry for the rant. This is personal.

Back to point. Glad you are on the amends. I caught it Jan of 20 before everyone knew what was happening. Had symptoms similar to what you are describing. Took roughly 3 months for my breathing to become "normal".
